NoBS Member/Photo of the Month: Jason Abbott

Congrats to NoBS member, Jason Abbott, who this month takes the member of the month/photo of the month prize. Here in his own words is an update from Jason on the latest with him and his blossoming photography career:
"Being a member of the NoBS forum/family has truly altered my existence on the planet. I sometimes look back at where I was just a year ago and shake my head. I have never understood what a passion for something was until photography found me. This is the most frustrating and wonderful craft I have ever been part of.
I am addicted to learning as much as I can. I have been blessed to have been guided along my path by such wonderful people. I have been helped by so many, James and Rob, Lisa Marie, Amy Coe, Andy Armstrong, Alison, Brian Little, Warne, Terry C, Melissa, Debbie Rodgers, Joshua, Hoopty, Brandon, Michael, Neil, Mike P, Eric, Dawn Ellen, Gabi, Julie P, Bob, Chasity, Danny, and Tommy Cooper has become one of my best friends, Tammy is my soul sister.
There are also some who have gone so far above and beyond that it may be impossible to give back what has been given. The behind-the-scenes help, the phone calls, the encouragement: Mike Long is a great mentor and a true talent. Steve and Shelley Harrington...I do not have enough time or words to say how much these two have helped me. They have been so very gracious, kind and supportive. I have been like a stalker to them. I have been to every workshop that they have taught, SLC, Nashville, SPA, and Park City. Without these two I do not know where I would be. I did not start off on a path to become a professional full time photographer, I just wanted to get better pictures of my kids. The seeds of becoming a professional photographer have been planted and are being cultivated along.
I recently opened my own small studio. I will be shooting my first wedding in October. Last year I had 37 high school senior clients who all called between March and may. This year I already have 10 Seniors scheduled before November on my way to 50 this year.
At the Inferno last year I participated in the "Shootout". OMG what a frightening yet wonderful time that was. At the time I have not used studio lighting...and it showed. This year I purchased my first set of studio lights and soft boxes. I also have a couple of backgrounds...what a difference a year makes.
Looking forward to Inferno 2009!"
About the Photo of the Month

I cannot describe the feeling having my image chosen the Photo Of The Month! I wanted to work on my lighting and use my new Larsen 4X6 soft box. We used these at Steve and Shelley's workshop in Park City. I have a garage sale and work 3 extra jobs after I got home and ordered one through Steve and Shelley. AWESOME! It really makes a huge difference in my photography. The photo of the month image was one of the last couple of shots taken during the session. All of the images in the monthly photo of the month contest were great and I am honored to have been selected.
