Frontline Webinar Series

This month kicks off some new and exciting features on the forum. One of those new features is the Frontline Webinar Series. As you know, Rob has done a monthly interview with photographers from various stages in their careers (available in the Downloads section). NoBS has also periodically hosted some very successful and informative webinars. Now, the guys bring you the Frontline Webinar which is a marriage of the Monthly Success Interview and the NoBS webinars you've all grown to love here at the forum.
Without further ado, here is our first guest, Tommy Cooper. He happens to be a longtime NoBS member who quit his day job a year ago. His story is inspiring and we hope you enjoy the interview! Oh and please don't forget to provide us with feedback!

February Photo of the Month

Julia Sternau was last month's Photo of the Month winner for the theme "red". Here is her story as well as the story behind her winning image:
"I spent 16 years in a bad marriage in a very depressed part of Southern Illinois. I decided that I needed some way to support myself and my 4 kids. I had always enjoyed the arts of photography. I saved up enough to buy myself a halfway decent camera and a cheap set of lights. I started reading and practicing and reading some more. I started to learn PS as well.
I finally divorced him and later met a wonderful man who has supported me in every way. We bought a better camera, better lights, studied together and practiced, practiced, practiced. It seemed I had hit a wall and couldn't get any better. Then, I discovered NoBs. With the help of some wonderful people whom I've met here, who were willing to give so much of their time and knowledge and lots of CC ( which at times was hard to take) my work took off. I had hardly ever been away from home by myself , but with my husband support and encouragement I attended my first Inferno in Chicago. I t was like I was reborn. Again, with the help of some really wonderful people who were willing to share so much of what they knew, I felt like I was really mastering my craft. Without their help, encouragement and friendship I would not be where I am today. I love NoBs and the members within. This is my 3rd year being a member and I am still growing and honing my craft. I LOVE THIS PLACE!
The story behind this image was that I always encourage clients to bring personal items along to their photo session , and I would always try to find a creative use for the things they brought to me, to ensure their portrait session had a personal touch. This mother brought this adorable rain suit and umbrella to her appointment, with no mud puddles anywhere in site to accent the outfit I decided to make it rain indoors with a little PS help.
Portrait was taken my canon 5D MkII 35mm 1.4 lens and 3 AB800's 2 for backlights and the other as my main.
This marks the last Photo of the Month contest at NoBS at least for the time being. Thanks to all of our wonderful vendors for sponsoring and supporting it, and thank you to our wonderful members who participated each month!
