Digital Photographer Design System by Andy Armstrong

I’m covered in monkeys – Funky Monkeys, Spunky Monkeys, Crunky Monkeys, and even a Polar Monkeys – but I am getting some help with them. Our own calgal (Julie Lowry) and the “better half of Team Steve,” Shelley have been helping wrangle and tame all of them and more. Yep, the monkeys are part of the new digital photographer design system I’m working on, and they’ve been gracious enough to take time out of their busy schedules to help me beta test it.
I call it the digital photographer design system (DPDS), because I’ve yet to find a name that encompasses the full array of hi-res backgrounds, textures, wallpapers, patterns, custom shapes, brushes, art frames, photo objects, styles, actions and tutorials that are part of the system. In essence, it’s a complete digital design house on a disc that not only allows the modern photographer to quickly and easily enhance photographs, but also teaches you how to use the system.
The DPDS is still in the design phase and is scheduled for release in the next 3-6 months. There will, of course, be a NoBS Member discount on all versions, and the complete system or parts (in standard and pro versions) will be available at the NoBS discount.
As I move forward in the process, I will be adding more beta testers to the mix, and in the final phase before release, I intend to host a small “Beta Tester Retreat” where NoBS members can get hands on experience and training with the DPDS and walk away with a complete pre-release system.
The aforementioned Monkeys are just part of the complete set of actions in the DPDS. Each action was built with the modern photographer in mind. They maintain the integrity of your original image and are easily adjusted to your taste.
If you’d like to see some examples of what’s in the system so far, I’ve set up some beta examples for you on the web. And, just for looking, you can download my beta AC_Vignette action free. Go here (and don’t forget to click to page 2).
Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think of the examples, and what you think might be a good addition to the DPDS!
